TRANSMISSION & TRANSFORMATION :
To transmit electrical energy in bulk from the Generating Stations/Sub-Station to the load centre, a strong and adequate capacity of transmission line is required. Power & Electricity Department, Mizoram is having 728 Km length of 132kV line, 117 Km of 66kV lines and 927 Km of 33kV line as on March 2012. The transformation capacity at 132 kV level at the end of 10th plan period is 84.3 MVA whereas it was increased to 140.60 MVA at the end of 11th plan period. In order to meet the requirement, P&E Department is intending to install additional 62.5MVA 132/33 Kv transformers at various places in Mizoram.
